Great drive from Alonso. Could there be any problem that's caused him to stop on circuit? Or just pure emotion?

Really enjoyed the race, plenty of action...and at Valencia too. I'm pleased with the result, Alonso drove a great race. I do wonder how much Verne had an impact on the result with his stupid move and idiotic drive back to the pits resulting in a safety car. The SC could well have cooked the alternators on both Grosjean and Vettel's cars.

Maldonado has received a 20 sec penalty for taking Hamilton out, dropping him to 12th.

He's got off very very lightly with that. Kobayashi is to take a five place grid drop at Silverstone. Verne is to take a ten place hit. So I guess he'll start at the very back.

Great drive Alonso

Unhappy for Vettel - not

Maldonado calling Hamilton 'Agressive' - t**t

All in all the first interesting race from Valencia

So, Schumacher not penalised and Paldo gets what he deserves.

Great GP, shame for Vettel, fantastic drive from Alonso

It would have been cruel to give schu a penalty
As it was he had knocked off speed even with his drs open
Pasta is driving with neither his head or heart, he is becoming a bit of a loon
Two reno's with alternater failures there will be some r's kicking in the french electric shop But where did vettel get that speed from has Newey found another way to blow the wings with the aero upgrade, hope this ones legal or within the spirt of

If anyones interested the two renos (lotus grosjohn?an red bull vettal) that lost there alternators due to high tempretures were linked by the fact both had new engines for valencia and both alternators were either new mod or bad batch Where as webber and kimi had old engines
Silverstone could see them fitted with 2011 alternators

Marussia test driva Maria de Villota has been seriously hurt whilst doing an aero-test at Duxford.

It does. And strange...

Lets hope its sensational headlines about Marussia and the truth is less worrying

On a brighter note kobayashi's crash with massa has him dropped 5 places at Silverstone but jean vergne's hit on Kovalainen earned him a 5 place drop then they looked again and gave him another 5 We now know who is at the back of the pack then A ten place drop for torro rossa is in the garage

Here´s come Silverstone, I think Hamilton and Button would really try hard to win this GP.

I woundnt rule out the rest of the field this year as trying for a win
Its all down to who throws their tyres out of the window
There is Alonso in a car thats not as fast but seems to lead
and there is always a joker in the pack as Hammy found in europe
Williams from nowhere last year
Lotus with grosjean not a name on everybodys lips last year
Perez from where? last year
and I reckon red bull might be trying a little if they can get away from the conspiricy theories The safety car is against them What?

If Valencia was anything to go by, looks like the Redbulls have made a big leap, Silverstone should confirm this, lets hope we're not back to the Sebastian Vettel show, would be very dull after a great start to the year.

The red bull of vettal looked fast but was actually 5kph slower than alonso's furry on the straights
They are making the lap times on the corners so it could well be the double floor that newey's made thats shoving the exhaust gas thro the starter hole for better downforce Others reckon the sound of the red bull is way different to the rest and they could be cutting cylinders on corner exits to get better traction Who knows but vettal was going well at valencia at the start but it was evening out later on Tyres??
We will see

Hi all, sorry to crash the thread but me and my OH are both big fans of the F1. I've got a quick question about parking on Sunday, at Silverstone, my OH has won tickets for race day and has Woodcote tickets. We have been looking into pre booking parking at the parkers car park - is this practical? I hope someone can advise/help us! Also what time should he aim to arrive? He is really looking forward to it but I am 39 weeks pregnant so he might not make it! TIA.

First of all. If you have a 4x4 then use it. Silverstone are talking of using the hard surface car parks ONLY. Then parking every one bumper to bumper.
So you will not leave until EVERYONE in front of you has got into their vehicle.
For this privelige you'll pay £40 for Sunday only.

The alternative......................................Do your homework. Use Google and find Windmill Camping at Silverstone. Then park just 5 mins walk from Woodcote / Luffied. Near to the old start / finish straight. For this you will pay £12.50.

So I've saved you £27.50 just like that. You can get me a beer when you get there.

All the best with baby.

Thanks Steven, I booked the Parkers carpark for £15 today. I hadn't had any replies and thought I was leaving it a bit late! We have got a 4x4 but OH is taking my A3. It does say that he won't be blocked in which, if I go into labour, would be an issue!
Thanks again, will look out your camping place next yr when I go with him!

It will take 15 to 20 mins to walk from the car park you have booked, past the start line to his grandstand.
It's likely to be a bit chaotic. Especially if tomorrows deluge arrives. First race is 8.30 if he's interested in watching that.
I'd say plan to arrive between seven and eight. The traffic gets very busy after 8am.
Hope he enjoys it. It's my 52nd Grand Prix :cuckoo:

Yes he thought it was 30 mins walk so that's not too bad! He's aiming to arrive at 7.30 so hopefully it should be ok. Thanks very much and wow! What a record!

He was more than lucky to get pole
But its still open to all with the weather and tyres

My better half has made it after setting off at 5am! He's parked up and was glad he took the 4x4! He's sitting in a covered grandstand so hopefully won't get too wet. We are rooting for Hamilton today! I love Button but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be happening this season for him.

Paul di Resta is racing too. Should be of interest to the Brits there? He's a rising star.

Yes we like him too! I really like grosjean too - always smiling!

Well if the rain comes down as expected, it could make for fascinating viewing......or hours waiting around for the race to get underway :gag:

Feeling for JB at the moment, he really isn't at the races is he, very frustrating. I bet he never envisaged this 'mare of a season when he lifted that trophy way back at the start. Still, I live in hope he will find some confidence and get back to the important end of the grid.

Never really liked Kimi, but would be quite happy to see him or Grojean take a win or two, really enjoying such an open season and a few more new winners will not go amiss.
