Looks a mess, also reading that they've lost 2 engines and gearboxes as a result, thats expensive!

bbc is saying - The latest from F1 chief writer Andrew Benson in the paddock is that one mechanic has been taken to the medical centre to be checked over but the rest of the team is in the clear.
An amazing photo here - http://BANNED/#!/FinalSector/status/201795408366804992/photo/1
...its also got the AP attribution cropped-off - naughty naughty(Sky also used it that way in internal PR)
Found a slightly bigger version on the Waily Fail

5 place grid penalty for msc that's good to see such a harsh penalty by the stewards good job

Not really that harsh - same penalty as changing a gearbox. Hamilton had a 23 place penalty for not having enough fuel!

Tongue in cheek - methinks![]()
onomatopoeia said:Collisions in the race are different as they are down to driver judgment at 200mph. If the stewards had felt it was deliberate and malicious,
There is no excuse for not providing a fuel sample, nor for not getting back to the pits, the teams know they have to put enough fuel in to get the car back to the pits and have enough left for the sample. It's in the rules and is completely clear cut. They failed to do so, absolute offence, nothing to argue. The penalty is only unjust if the stewards do not apply the same penalty to the next team that does it, but it was what I was expecting as soon as I saw the car stop at the end of Q3.
So you think the fueling error was a deliberate & malicious attempt to cheat to get poll?
Why would they do that when Hamilton pretty much had it in the bag due to being the only driver with fresh tyres left in Q3?
I think it was an honest mistake in a rushed moment. Mclaren are known for such pressure mistakes.. Just look at their recent pit stop record...
It is emotive and again appears that McLaren are being dealt with unduly harshly, perhaps, but thems is the rools!
The penalty is only unjust if the stewards do not apply the same penalty to the next team that does it,
The rules state that the car must return under it's own power. So a penalty was applicable, no question about that, but that penalty is down to, shall we say, "local discretion"I think it was very harsh, unprecedented actually.
I agree, it'll be very interesting to see what happens next time. I hope it's Alonso at Monza![]()
Monaco GP yawn yawn, how bloody boring is this. About time they pick a new venue, f 1 has outgrown this place . It's a traffic jam .
I mean, other circuits have spent millions on making their track safer ,these cars weren't designed for this type of track ,plus I'd taketh bet that the drivers aren't on it 100%.
The guy on tv just said that redbull are monitoring mark Webbers slip angel to see if he's stressing his tyres, I mean come on! !! I love f 1 have done for 30 odd yrs, drivers today have it way! !! Too easy compared to the Mansel &Senna era.

No comparison in my opinion on the car front I'm afraid ,however I think Ascari & Fangio had more skill and balls considering the cars they drove compared to the cars Senna and Mansel had.
Actually those cars today were designed and developed specifically for that one track.Monaco GP yawn yawn, how bloody boring is this. About time they pick a new venue, f 1 has outgrown this place . It's a traffic jam .

Not the greatest Monaco race.
Not the greatest Monaco race.

Remind me what F1 is supposed to be about again.
