Guys sorry to have to ask this but after scouring the net i thought i would ask an opinion.

I have the Dakine mission backpack and although i like it i cant help that think having to access the camera from the back is a little annoying.

As im going to be on the beach taking pictures of kiters and students i think i need something with a "quick draw" option so i can keep putting it back and not exposing to the sun all the time.

What would give me that option and also not make me look like too much of an idiot :D

I have a Lowepro Rezo 160 which is nice and inconspicuous and is carried over my shoulder, but it's pretty small and can really only hold my 450D with the kit lens attached, and a telephoto lens as well (my 55-250mm IS in my case). If you want to take more than 2 lenses around with you, maybe something like the Rezo 180 or 190 would do you fine. My 160 has a little rain jacket to pull over it, which probably won't protect it in a downpour, but in general rain should keep everything nice and dry. Might also prove useful on the beach to keep sand out of your bag :)

I cant help but feel that a side satchel would get irritating if i needed to run for any reason in the lowpro range i was thinking of the slingshot.
 
its a bag thats comfey and holds all my stuff, im not too worried what it looks like but i dont think its too bad. got a kinda body armour look to it i thought (kata make body armour for israely forces iirc)
 
i tottaly understand what your saying and thats what a bag should be about. Super shallow of me but in this case i do want a smooth looking bag.

This one would be good for urban photography though. Why did they go from making israeli body armour to camera bags :p

That's a fair point, I've never ran while carrying my bag so it's not something I've thought about before :)
 
Kata DR456 - great little pack. I can fit a 70-200mm and a D200 with grip in the base, with two flashes and some filters and other stuff in the top. Very comfortable and the waterproof cover is a help too. Think they cost about £55.

Nah, think it will be too small for you. I think you will need at least the 200aw but it depends what lens you want mounted while in the bag

Lowepro Primus AW.........easy to get at the camera and serves as a good day pack for the beach.........
 
Lowepro fastpack is the way to go.
I have a 350.
It hold a d3 with 24-70 attached
55-200
50 f1.4
SB 600 flash and there's still one space left in the pouch.
It can also take up to a 17" laptop.
And then there's the top sorage compartment which can take loads more.
It does get pretty heavy when filled with stuff but there is plenty support on it.
Good buy.
 
Burton Zoom Pro.
You can access your camera from the top as well as the back. The reason why they only access from the back on snow packs is so you can put your bag down on the snow/sand and don't get it all over you when you pick it back up. the zip is also far less likely to split.

I am not far from bournemouth, if you want to try your kit in a slingshot 200 let me know and we can meet up, I have one sat in the loft.
 
I've got a Lowepro Slingshot 200. Holds Canon 40D with 28-135 attached Stores the 70-300 as well, but not on the camera. Room for the lens hoods and flash too. I've walked all day with that on my back (monopod strapped to it as well) with no problems. It takes about 20 seconds to flip around front and get the cam out. I highly recommend it.
 
These are pretty good, can take a beatin, fold up nicely small and also water proof too!
