I've just taken a rolls worth of photos for the poty, go to rewind and... The roll comes apart. It was an old canister I'd reuse so I suspect the tape just have up.
I'll be sticking the while lot in the dark bag to get the film onto the reel, so I'm not worried about it, just frustrated as I'm something of a time constraint.

As usual with my threads, just posting to share the experience

***That sinking feeling**

h'mm I thought it was going to be about a photographer on the Titanic :)

Sinking... that was what was happening with some of my POTY attempts! I was trying for some macro shots with my old and very heavy Tamron 85-210 (which turns out to be nicely sharp in macro mode, and gets up to about 1/2 size). But I needed to point the camera downwards, and the weight of the lens caused it to sink on my £5 charity shop Vanguard tripod. I couldn't find any way to screw it tighter. So I had to give up in the end.

Last Saturday I went in to LCE in Leamington to have a look at proper tripods. The bloke there was demonstrating one, and I saw him turn the panning handle thing to lock it. D'oh! Yes, that was it, works a treat. Sadly, he lost himself a sale as the £5 tripod seems now to work well enough for me. But there wasn't any light for the shot I wanted, so another time, maybe!

Oh it gets worse... looks like the shutter speed that worked perfectly on the digital body was too fast for the old film body, so I've got a lot of almost blank frames.

Typical. Oh well, best have a new idea sharpish

I know how you feel Mads, I got back a 120 T-max which was totally blank. What a waste of time and money, but I like you have learnt take my time. :)

Horrible feeling :(

I see your sinking feeling, and raise you the sinking feeling of a frame of 4x5 slide coming back blank.

£6.

Down the pan.

I don't even want to consider a 10x8 frame of slide coming back blank.

Fail.

Ouch! :shake:

I am petrified that a roll of T-Max that I loaded into an A12 back was done wrongly... afraid to shoot the final frames and dev it now.
