That odd looking symbol on your camera

Not done much macro with film then!

It's a Plimsoll Line - only dunk it in water to this level ;)

its the focal plane mark - basically where the front of the sensor is located and the point you measure foward from for focal length and focus distance

I don't give it much thought either, probably because I've known what it is for the last forty-five years.....

:plus1: though more like 50 years

I'm amazed there's a video explaining it tbh

Good job there is, or Kipax, and I assume others, may not have noticed it, and/or knew what it was for. :)

I don't even know why I know what it s, but still, full video for it? I've seen it pointed out in plenty of camera body reviews

haha what a condescending lot! .. well I honestly didn't know what it was.. was quite suprised and guessing anyone doing macro or anyting that was important to know the distance that it's ..... well no point me saying.. your all too clever for me :)

Nah, wasn't even like that, more I'm surprised that guy made a whole video dedicated to it rather that point out in a camera review. Like I have seen others do. That's probably where I learned it, some random review

In the film days it showed where the film was.
I thought everyone knew that. (Apart from millennials, who don't know what film is! )
