That Fire in Dubai Look Nasty!

They announced that the nearby firework display at midnight will still go ahead.... seriously!


Yeagh towering inferno just jumps right out the screen as soon as you see it :)

No injuries reported (miracle) hence the smilies
 
Someone's died of a heart attack it seems ,looks bad though
 
The spread of the fire shown on the BBC news channel a few hours ago made me wonder about the presence, capacity and effectiveness of the buildings own fire suppression systems??? Not forgetting or withstanding that that report spoke of it having been burning for 2 hours........so limited obvious impact of any attending fire fighting services!

Hopefully no serious injuries or fatalities when end reports come out.

I can not believe everyone could get out in the time it took to spread.
Surely they knew that uncoated thin metal cladding burns very easily.
 
The speed that the fire spread raises concerns about the Dubai safety regs.
Yet another reason not to go there.
