A while back someone posted about going to uni/college to study photography. someone commented back why didnt that person get an assistant job with a photographer and learn as you go type thing...well it got me thinking and i emailed all the local photographers and i have been offered a casual assistant job with one of them. His photos are fantastic and he sat with me for almost 2 hours showing me thinks of photoshop and lightroom, he took on an assistant the day before i emailed but she cant manage two weddings he has booked at the end of June so im going instead. Its a fantastic learning experience and he is pleased as he has got someone who is super keen to learn. The other great thing is he has said i can use his studio to practice in Im realy excited and even more so as the weddings are at drumtochty castle!!!

I would also like to thank Alaisdair (Reddeathdrinker) for letting me tag along this weekend. Im really looking forward to it, im even having my hair done for the occasion! :thumbs:

Well done you, and thanks for posting. Brilliant opportunity. Maybe it will inspire others.

It would be great to see a few pics posted :) And can we see a snap of your new hairdo? (I'm hoping you're a girl here... :thinking: )

I was kinda thinking that :lol:

I get more phone calls than emails from potential assistants, sadly most of them are a waste of time but I always hear them out before saying 'No thanks' - you never know a gem of a person may turn up one day

I hope you're one such gem - good luck :thumbs:

All woman!! I will wait and see how it turns out before i post photos....trying to fix highlights gone wrong......

Well i dont know if im a gem or not but im certainly willing to give it all i got!!
