After finishing work yesterday I was knackered! Despite my body saying it wanted rest I had to do Sainsburys! Well the cats have got to be fed!

Pushing the trolley around the store I came across an old Jools Holland cd I hadn't got. It's called 'Beatrout' and is being played as I type this. It was a bargain at £3.97!

Being a big Jools Holland fan the rest of the trip around Sainsburys was done in a blur! Shopping aisles were done at turbo speed!

Anyone else on here a big fan Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra?

I went to see him a few years ago and record "later with" every week.

he is a great musician

Jools Holland is most utter crap tv presenter there ever was, but, I don't think there's a finer, more talented musician in the world today. I'm not a great listener of/to music but I do like to see it performed live and I've seen him live, the only way to describe it was gobsmacked! If you ever get the chance to see him, don't pass it up.

Saw him and the band at the NIA in Birmingham. Absolutely brilliant, his brother came and joined in a couple of numbers, he's good too. I love his New Year Hootenanny show.

Most certainly a fan, like a lot of his stuff.
Gotta agree with Steep, only not had the opportunity to see him live :(

I would like to see him live. Perhaps we should get a group together and go and see him?

I like his later tv shows and the New Year tv special is not to be missed.

A girl I used to know on a bridal forum once emailed him (or rather his agents) to see if he would play at their wedding as she loved him so much and he said that as it was at Cooling Castle Barn (his back garden basically) it would be £25,000 (apparently half the price).

:D

She still loves him though

i do love jools as well, one of my fondest memories is getting home on new years day 2000 still drunk after riding 20 miles home from a party, i colapsed on the sofa with thetv on and my little sister (3 years old at the time) piling soft toys all over me, i woke up to the hootenany with van morrison (another of my fav musicians) playing a song called "philosophers stone", was really good.

i dont actually own any jules cds, ive got a few of the songs off of small world big band vol1 and a few songs by squeeze and thats it, i really should buy some more, OR go and see him live like i wanted to last year!

Bit of a Jools fan here. Seen him at Glastonbury and Rochester Castle. A very talented musician.

I think he owns Cooling Castle doesn't he?

I saw him live at the Hexagon in Reading a couple of years ago :) The guy can perform pure magic on a piano, he can get sounds out of that keyboard that I wouldn't have believed possible :notworthy:
