My new 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM is here (and the x2 converter)! Too dark to try it out tonight but I'll be out there this weekend, giving it a real try. It's my treat to myself; after the burglary, Dad dying and then being robbed, I felt I deserved it and Guy will also be able to use it occasionally....if he asks VERY nicely

Mind you...it's blinkin' heavy! I thought the 24-70 was pretty weighty, but this is even worse. My camera shake will be something else! Good job its got IS.;)

Really looking forward to the Minsmere meet; I'll be able to stand a chance of "bagging" something now.

Really pleased for you Carole, you deserve to treat yourself :) I hope you enjoy your new lens  Looking forward to seeing some of your results

nice wee collection you're gathering there :)

Congrats on the purchase, Carole .... you deserve it after everything youve been through recently.
Look forward to seeing some piccies... and maybe getting my hands on it at the next meet!
Dont worry... I only want a feel to see if I can cope with the weight on the 5D! ;)

Nice one

Looking forward to seeing some of the images from it.....and now that you can print with confidence you've got no excuse to get some on the wall either :D

Thanks Carole, enjoy your new gear. Ian.

If you haven't got one already I suggest you treat yourself to a monopod. It'll make a big difference. I'm assuming you have a tripod ring with that lens.
