was admiring some of the images in the portrait section today and noticed some of them have a lovely traditional antique almost leather look to the background, is this a added texture in photshop etc and brushed on ? any info on this would be great as i would like to try it with some family shots..

thanks

Hi Harry. I work a lot with textures... these are layers that are applied in photoshop. For me, I often use more than one, using different blending modes and masking. There's tonnes of tutorials on youtube about it. There are some lovely textures out there, some you buy, some you can download for free. If you're really resourceful, you can even make them yourself. :)

thanks, yes had a look on youtube but didnt find quite what i was after, was mostly more extreme stuff on there like bricks etc but ill have another look i guess its the same process just a case of finding the textures to use :)

They are easy enough to add if you want or look at totally rad dirty pictures (not what it sounds like) it's a plug-in for adding textures.
