Anyone know of any good online tutorials about overlaying textures onto images?

Got some flyers/posters to design for a bar and need a bit of additional pazzazz :)
 
Play around with the layer blend modes, as stated above overlay is a popular choice but they will vary with image, you can also ajust the opacity.
If your planning on doing it a lot you might want to check out totally rad dirty pictures (not what it sounds) is a plug-in for adding textures.
 
I like the look of the totally rad presets.

It is good, it also has the advantage of showing you a preview of how your pic will look and it comes with some textures built in, although you can add more.
 
Theres a good Gavin Hoey video on youtube where he wraps a union jack from one pic over someones arm in another. Is that the sort of thing you're after?

Not quite the same, thats a displacement map where it looks like the pattern/whatever is actually printed on the tee shirt, the textures the OP is talking about is added as another layer (often overlay blend mode) and adds a sort "grunge" effect.
