Morning all not exactly sure how to word this but basically I've got my D3200 and 55-300 lens and a good tripod and I'm wanting to start taking pics of the moon after seeing a few turning up on here and a friend of mines took a couple! But ..... I've tried a couple of times but can't get the focusing just right so I've been told if you tether your camera to a laptop it's easier to get the focusing just right so that's basically what I want to be able to do!!

Any advice or feed back thanks

Much cheaper and easier to switch to manual focus. Then it won't try to aquire focus each time you press the release...

On Canon cameras you simply go to liveview and zoom in 10x then tweek the focus without the need to waffle around in the dark with a laptop. Don't know if Nikon offers this feature tho...

Yup, they do. That and manual focus is all you need.
