Tethered shooting to a tablet

I love to shoot portraits and use my MacBook Pro - via a long USB cable to tether and view the shots as I take them.
But rather than using a heavy laptop I want to go lighter and just use a tablet so I can preview the shots as I take them. I do not want the function to edit, just purely to view.
Does anyone know a simple way to do and the software needed?
I apologise if this is a simple thing, but when researching I cannot find the right info.

Many thanks in advance
Rich

I use a Toshiba FlashAir SD card. There's also Eye-Fi. Wireless connection to your device of choice

This is what I used, but have not found an android app that lets me view the raw files so have to shoot raw + JPEG.

True, but given you're only viewing what's wrong with JPEG?

I'm old school (not just in age), as I have always treated digital RAW files as the equivalent of film negs, and JPEG as the equivalent of film prints. The neg/RAW gets stored away and can be adjusted to your satisfaction when you have the time, but in the meantime you can show the print/JPEG around to whoever you wish.

Also, I only ever do pp on a PC with colour corrected monitor. I don't know of any tablet or other Android device that is good enough for pp.

Nothing wrong with viewing jpegs but shooting both fills up the card quickly and then have to ensure I only import raw to pc.

you can get surfrace pro 1's for quite cheap, runs windows which means you can teather to capture one (yay!) and have wacom pen interface :) and a usb 3 port, and a decent charging port design

downsides, battery life isnt great, fairly weighty.

theres some cheaper tablets with less power for cheaper that run windows or android dual boot, so capture one might run on those ok enough

I used a toshiba wifi card yesterday with a cheapo tablet and it behaved itself better than my eyefi card averaged. for wireless jpg is better, raw is way bigger, these wifi cards suck battery like crazy and still arent super fast, and tablets will handle jpg better than rAW

I use "Capture Pilot" free from "Capture One" on my
iPad Air2 set on a Magic Arm for the clients or models
sometimes but I mostly use it by the setup tabletop to
control and trigger the camera.

With it, I don't have to walk to the setup, fix something,
come back to the camera to shoot and return… Instead
I stay by the table and see all immediately on the iPad.

Many thanks for all replies, I'll check them all out. Really appreciate the help, Rich
