Hi,
At a recent shoot I had major problems with tethered shooting in Lightroom 3. Using a 15 ft lead it either just stopped working or the camera showed 'busy'. Tried switching things on and off, sometimes I had to start a new file in L3. This sometimes worked sometimes not, all very frustrating. Then for some reason it just started working and was fine for about a couple of hours.
Shooting with 5D11, L3 and win 7

A 15' lead may be pushing it a bit, unless it's powered
 
Thanks guys, I was doing some research on the internet and it seems a really common problem. Unfortunately the solutions seem to be many! I also saw abouit switching camera to PC comms but couldn't find it on the 5D2?

off the top of my head i think anything over 5m needs to be an active powered cable to be reliable

Trying to find a straight 'active' cable rather then an extension cable. Does anyone have a link or recommendation please?!
