I was after a larger soft box primarily for my wedding ocf work and last week I bought an Octabox from ebay linky which I paired with this adapter (thanks to Simon Revill for pointing me in the right direction) and today I finally got a chance to try them out. Unfortunately as soon as the boys saw the camera coming out they shot out the door and I had to rely on my old standby model - Biggles!
The 90cm Octabox is an umbrella affair and is a cinch to set up in seconds and the adapter is much, much better than the ones you get with Lastolite Easybox Hotshoe, I have a Bowens S type fitting on this one and the hold rig takes no time at all to put together.
The result was a lovely soft light which I am very pleased with and hopefully it will be a good addition to the armoury.
D3, 85mm f/1.8, taken at ISO200, 1/60th, f/2. Single SB-900 in Octabox to camera right.
