Hi all, currently sick and tired of vodafone, pathetic customer service, poor network and pure ignorance from them are making me want to change provider.

Contract due to end in december and have a galaxy s4 which isn't 100% reliable anymore.

ee, all I hear are complaints from the people I speak to, poor network and customer service
3, carphone warehouse don't deal with them anymore due to poor and un reliable coverage
o2, my wife has gone with them but they seem a bit pricey.

Which seems to leave tesco mobile, so does anyone have any experience with there network coverage and customer service?

I thought Tesco mobile used the O2 network, so if your wife's signal is good and you can get a contract cheaper on Tesco, it could be a good option.

If you're looking for a provider piggy-backing on O2 then try Giffgaff - great value.

Got my daughter a mobile contract with Tesco, spoke to CS once when setting up and they were quick to answer phone and pretty helpfull- even asked if I wanted to set a limit in case of over use/phone lost.

I use Tesco (PAYG) and, as far as I know, they are linked to O2. My phone would not even qualify as a dumbphone but the service has been excellent for years. Mrs Tringa does have a smartphone on Tesco/02, PAYG, and has had no problems with it.

Most of the time we are in London so coverage is not an issue, but we have also had a good signal in NW Scotland (around Gairloch) and in Orkney.

That's a bit of a coincidence, i'm on Tesco pay monthly (which does use O2) and, I'm looking at other networks due to the poor network coverage on here.

Maybe they're all as bad as each other :banghead:

I was until recently with Tesco and have to say I had no problems whatsoever. I only moved to EE to get a better deal.

Giffgaff are great. Whole family on them. Prob about 2 years now and all smooth

My girlfriend and I are both with Tesco, never had to deal with their customer service but good signal, thumbs up from me.

Didn't realise they piggy backed o2, I have ordered a free payg sim to see how it goes.
Never really looked at giffgaff, are they any good?

Been with them 2 1/2 years, and they've been very straight forward and extremely economical too. The deals are very simple and obvious, with no catches that I've found. If you want to try them then send me a PM - if I order you a SIM card to try then we both get money off if you use it IIRC.

We're on Tesco mobile and their customer service - both in store and over the phone - has been excellent whenever we've needed them. Few months ago, swapped SIMs over from the original 3G SIM to the new 4G SIM - no issues, very easy and worked a treat. I have recommended them for a while now, we used to be with 3 and although their coverage was slightly better for me at work, there wasn't a great deal in it and 3s customer service was as much use as a chocolate fire guard ...

I was with Tesco for ages. Great service but always needed to chase my points

My parents like Tesco and are happy with the costs. BT will give you a good deal if you use them for internet/phone lines already. I personally use EE of which i've found the customer service and coverage in my local area (North Essex) to be fantastic.
GiffGaff have some good deals also, I've never spoken to their team before but the website was somewhat frustrating last time I was trying to add bundles. Probably a one off though.

Can't fault tesco I have just changed my phone and I went from my 12.50 / month to 10/month and still have more mins for talk 5000 txt and half gig of data great deal

Oh and I forgot to mention the family perks - if you have more than 1 contract with them, each can choose something extra - more mins / texts / data and you choose individually.

They also allow you to cap an overspend - used to allow you not to exceed your allowance, they inform you if you are near to your allowance quickly (Daughter has had a few of these!!) and you can easily add extra via your on line account - you can also easily up or down your data allowance for the following month...

Thanks Toni, I will drop you a pm, what details would you need.
I see you can top up by voucher as well, can you select the goodbags when you buy a voucher?

I don't know about paying by voucher - couldn't see anything 'obvious' on their site about it.

All the companies will create a small additional charge when you buy a phone on credit, but some make it more obvious than others. However if you can get a better deal with Tesco then you should use them instead, especially since the service in terms of phone performance will be identical.
