Recently I have been doing some paid portraits, well I'm sip prised how many local people want images.

I have authorised some copyright free image with a letter suggesting they copyright.
However client has forgotten to take the letter and both teacup n asda refused to print. How do they know they are pro pics?

I think they try to gauge it, there's been such a stink on about supermarkets breaching copyright - there was a thread on here just last week about Asda doing so. Be flattered, at least your images are obviously good :D I have (c) Jen Whitehead - Permission to Print only on my CD labels and I know another guy who puts an electronic version of the letter on each disc

well the avwerage user who use a point and shoot take awful pics 70% of the time look on facebook i have seen some truly awful pics on there

so if they are a good quality level then this gives the game away even though dslr are easily available on the market

Tell them to use the self-service kiosk jobbies.

It's good for photographers, and never looked it like that, a thumbs up from Asda for work :)

Just wasn't sure if by some way the machine read the exit data and flagged it from that, probs living in a dream land lol, very true, some of the stuff that folk take makes me laugh on fb.

the client went online to photo box for the some many free offer

I may put a electronic version on the disc as well as a hardcopy then that should cover all bases.

Thanks all

<snip>

Don't believe for a moment that they give a stuff about photographers. It's purely a back-covering excercise for the processors, and mostly a PITA all round.

Anyone seriously wanting to infringe copyright won't find it too tricky.
