I visited the Terence Donovan Exhibition at The Photographers' Gallery in their Posh New Premises off Oxford Street, London -- it was very good -- loads of HUGE enlargements and contact prints from his actual negatives -- also a member ship card of Bethnal Green Camera Club in 1965 when i was at Barking Photographic Society , He CAME to Barking PS in his Rolls Royce and ate Fish'n Chips in it from a shop in Ripple Road before he went to the meeting ! I photographed him by available light on Tri-X which I processed in Microphen to 'push it' but I found out Tri-X does NOT like Microphen -- huge grain and unsharpness, but I show a scanned print anyway -- must have been late 1980's taken ---

I went to Romford on my FREE Pensioner's Bus Pass then got train to Stratford, then Central Line to Oxford Street, then exit 7, turn RIGHT along a bit of Oxford Street then down some steps by BOOTS and gallery is straight ahead and it was FREE as I was there before 12 noon.

Thinking of going to Londo0n on Saturday - this looks like a good starter for the day, thanks for the heads up.

Loved Donovan's work back in the day. Still have a cherished copy of his book "Glances".

Terence Donovan was a fantastic and extremely talented photographer, I always enjoyed his personal photographic dedication.

RIP
He was indeed, I knew him in the 60's. Back then he was "Tel", later he became "Terry" and his widow now refers to him as "Terence":)
Sadly, he suffered from depression all his life.
