So I have been look out for a new shoulder bag and it came down to the Tenba DNA 11 and Think Tank Retrospective 7.

They are both very similar in size, both inside and out, and both very well made.

The retrospective 7 is the heavier of the two, mainly due to the slightly thicker material. The inside has a good number of pockets and you can set the dividers as you please. The strap is super comfortable and the hand strap is good. The bag is really well made, has YKK zips and the velcro closure is really strong! The velcro is very noisy, but luckily you can silence it. Trouble is when you do that, the flap is not secure at all.

Its very stealth looking, can easily pass as just a messenger bag. Its a bit of a tight fit for the 70-200 F4, but it does fit. Also in the bag is D750 with lens attached and small prime down one side with my Black Rapid in the back pocket.

The Tenba DNA 11 has a removable compartment, so can be used as a messenger bag too. It is slightly taller so fits the 70-200 F4 better. It is also nicely padded with pockets for essentials. It also has YKK zips and built very well. The main flap has magnetic closures which are great, you need to slide to release but can pop them on straight. It also has Velcro, but no silencers. You can open it more silently by running your hand down on the Velcro.

It has a great feature - and that a zip along the main flap at the top giving you quick access to all your gear - its an excellent feature, and works really really well. The strap is not as comfortable as the Think Tank, but is still nice. Also its removable so you can change it for what ever you please. The padding is also removable so you can change that too.

After trying both out I'm keeping the Tenba. Its well built, great features and the top zip access is excellent.

Hope this helps anyone looking for a medium sized messenger bag! Pics...

I can fit my 70-200 2.8 inside my retro 7, just not attached to the body, I leave just a little bit of Velcro as well so it is attached just not by much, this helps with noise and flapping about. Nice to see a comparison though, I did like the look of the tenba, just a bit boxy for me
