Ten non photoshopped images that will warp your mind

It is amusing to see that they are noted simply for not being photoshopped.

Go back 10 years and that was the way people created 'trompe l'oeil' photographs. :(

My mind remains unwarped.

Nice ideas and mainly well executed but all relatively easy to duplicate the effects.

Nice shots but not that mind warping. Cheers for sharing though.

Funny to read all the comments of the people that have no idea how the spoon/fork shot was done!

yep, feeling singularly un-warped here as well...

Did this myself two years ago.

I'd say a photograph of the fork-shadow underneath and warp-around lighting.

edit: *wrap-around. All that warping is getting to me. What did the little boy in Matrix say?

Or a simple double exposure - the shadow is soft, hold fork out of shot, creating the shadow, the double the spoon on top.

I too remain unwarped.:|

Didn't warp my mind, but nice to see some simple pictures that made me think a little bit.Being relatively new to photography and only being used to the digital age it's nice to see some non photoshop techniques :)

interesting and thanks for sharing:thumbs:
Bob:)

I am warped...

... but it doesn't have much to do with the photos :D

The main thrust of these seems to be that they haven't been photoshopped.

Personally I have no curiosity as to how they were done as I have no darkroom experience.

I would be able to have a pretty good go at them in photoshop though, so I'm not in any way warped.

But all show a good graphical image, so it's good to see.

These are effects that were produced in-camera at the time of the shot being taken, not in a dark room. These are effects that can be reproduced on a Digital SLR. :)

Sorry for not picking that up. But like I suggest, I have no real interest in how it was achieved personally.

Didn't like any of them, apart from the fork and spoon one.

That doesn't take a lot of thinking though.

1) Tincan lid
2) Developed x-ray flim used as "filter"
7) fishing-hooks
3 -6, 8, 10) nothing special here
Spork, see above.

Not at all mind warping but shows imagination in some of the shots. They are not photoshopped because they don't need to be.

tropical illusions...its all done with mirrors

remember the double exposure thing when you held the button and the rewind crank and thumbed on the shutter priming mechanism..

I thought the sarky comments were the best. The bit about the spoon being in another dimension was rather amusing.

As was "There is no spoon". Someone's been watching Dog Soldiers :)

Ian.

So was the spoon and fork picture done with double exposure?
Do many digital slrs have a double exposure mode?I know my 450d doesn't, I know you can merge images in photoshop just wondered if its a feature on todays cameras.

No, the spork picture was done by affixing a fork underneath the translucent surface on which the spoon sits, and then lighting it from below to cash a shadow/silhouette on the underside.

Then the spoon was lit as normal from above.

So, this wasn't a double exposure, but my D300s can do them, as can my D200.
