Who is considered the best photographer on this forum and where can I view their work?

Put up your votes.

Now that is a tough question for debate ;)

I'm not an expert but I've yet to see a better photograph of my youngest daughter's foot than the one I took.

Joking aside - I couldn't even begin to answer that question.

I certainly have my favourites but Im my opinion - once the technical chiff is sorted from the chaff - there's so many great examples of such different subjects - it's down to personal preference.

No one person is considered to be the best, we have a huge variety of incredibly talented shooters on here, both professional [as in they get paid] and amateur [equally brilliant, don't get paid] and covering so many different genre. I would suggest that as you read the forums and view the images posted, you will pick up on the work you like and who it is by anyway.
Most people also have links to their websites, flickr pages or blogs in the signatures, so you can always visit those pages and see more stuff.
Always remember that photography is subjective, what I might consider to be brilliant, you may find less than inspriring, but part of the fun of membership here is building your own opinions and feelings about what you do and don't like and where you want to take your own photography. That sounds a bit precious, but it isn't, its about enjoying yourself and learning ;)

So, as our doors are only a certain width, I am not going to generate any swollen heads this early in the morning, but suggest you get stuck in and have some fun of your own finding out what you like, rather than what someone tells you they like

Depends on how I'm feeling: some days it's me, but most often it's everyone else...

As has been said, hard to answer that question. So many different styles of photography here. It would be like trying to compare two of my own favourites: Don McCullin and Rankin... How do you compare a Photojournalist and a Portrait/Fashion photographer? Both amazing in their genres, but personally I wouldn't dare try rate one over the other!

 :notworthy:

I had a little shudder then Rob 'cos for a split second, you sounded like a para! ;)

Without any question at all it's me. You can find my work at the link below. I particularly recommend my Noir and heavily processed, Graphic Novel-style work.

Man...that's Harsh...:(

Sorry Rob... I daren't tell you who I served with 'cos I'll get no end of earache but I'll give you a clue. ;)

We used to have a saying: "There's two things that fall out of the sky that the Royal ** won't catch... Bird crap and paras". :D

There is no consensus among you as to who most often surprises and impresses you?

It's adorable to be so touchy feely about it, guys, but c'mon, who do you each look up to?

I think we need some tonue in cheek smilies!

Hmmm... There's a few whose work I find impressive (in no particular order).

AliB - Portraits
'M' - LowFly
Simon Revill - Wedding Photography
Jerry Moore - Landscapes
Blinkerz - Glamour
Rob Ashton - Portraits
Rob (Arkady) - Environmental Portraits

Me - Long Exposure Landscapes & Seascapes :D (well, I like 'em ;))

There are loads of others whose work I really like but the ones above are probably my favourites.

It is nigh on impossible to say who is the ebst photographer. The best at what, wildlife, motorsport, glamour... If you have a browse through the C+C sections as suggested you may find someone's style better suited to what you enjoy looking at!

Everyone likes different things in a photo so it is impossible to say who is the best...

I don't think people are being touchy / feely about it - there is such a wide variety of great shots posted here by so many people. I couldn't possibly tell you who is looked up to in the motorsport / portrait forums as I rarely venture into them. Who do I look up to? Well that's an entirely different question.

Macro - Ajophotog and Dogfish_magnet spring to mind.
Tomas Whithouse has already been mentioned - he takes some great ice skating shots amongst lots of other things.
I really enjoyed Macky799's photos of the big cats from the Wildlife Heritage Foundation last year.
sawman posts lovely shots of Red Squirrels and other wildlife...

The list goes on and on - and on - and I don't claim to have looked at every single thread / shot that has been posted. I'm sure there are LOADS of great photographers on TP that I am yet to discover.

Why not have a look around and see what you find..?
