After they found earth like planet (I m saving all I can as we speak to fly with Mr. Branson :D ) I have got a bit inquisitive about the galaxy around us and planning to buy a telescope.

Any ideas folks what to get. Budget is around 200-300 quids. Have got absolutely no clue where to even start.

Any suggestions/advise will be highly appreciated.

Very funny Mr. Hades  :D :D

My advice would be do not get one with a motor drive, just go for size. Get the biggest dobsonian you can for the money. Or if you want one thats easier to use get a schmidt-cassegrain
This is a great scope for the money

But large and unwieldy, it wouldn't be easy to drag outside and back in for an evenings viewing.
This would be a more practical alternative, but wouldnt gather as much light

Hope that helps a bit

Buy one that fits your camera .

Sorry if that's a bit obvious but they don't all have Nikon / Canon adaptors availaible

Almost all telescopes by standard manufacturers have camera ports. Then you need 2 adapters, one for your camera (and there is an adaptor for all main makers of DSLR's) and one that comes from the telescope maker that fits the camera mount and has a screw fitting for the telescope. Unless you buy a cheapo £60 jobbie from argos, i cant see that being a problem

Fair enough , bloke I worked with had a 'serious' telescope & claimed he couldn't get the mount for his camera .

Then again he never would say what his camera was :)
