hi people
can anyone recommend a telescope for under £100 that can have a 400d or any other dslr attached to it..
thanks

You could check ebay. Lots of diff telescopses there but if you're thinking of taking pics of deep space objects like nebulas and galaxies you will need a tracking motor and a very precise one. To attach dslrs cameras to it you need to buy an adapter. I suggest joining an astronomy site and ask some questions. www.astronomy.com click on the community tab and choose reader forms...

You can probably get a small refractor for that sort of money, but as Edsport said, without a tracking device you will be limited to taking photos of the moon, or ground objects during daylight hours. If you intend to use it for the latter, a telephoto lens would be a better option.

When looking, you will probably be better off staying away from Newton or reflecting style telescopes. Whilst they often represent value for money due to the size of telescope aperture when compared to a similarly priced refractor, they often have issues with insufficient focus travel for use with a camera.

If you do end up with a 'scope, you will definitely need an adapter to use your camera with it.

As someone who both digiscopes and sells telescopes, I wouldn't bother if your budget is only £100. The optical quality will be simply disappointing.

Avoid scopes on Ebay unless you know what you are buying... It's really not worth it, a lot of the scopes are very cheaply made, and disappointing.

What are you looking to shoot with it ?

First question is: what do you want to shoot?

First response is: £100 is simply not enough (no matter what you want to photograph).

Some ten or so years ago I was fortunate enough to be able to position myself to observe a total solar eclipse. It wasn't a "scientific" trip, just a holiday. No telescopes or other stuff. So I bought a 500mm mirror lens from Jessops, if I recall correctly, just to have a record shot or two. It was a cheap lens - something like £99.99 - and so were the results. I've never used it since. Would you like to buy it? :D

Ebay sells every kind of telescope not only cheaply made ones...

depends on how much your selling it for and what camera it fits...

Nothing decent! I think your best option would be to look for a second hand ED doublet like the Skywatcher 80ED, William Optics Megrez 70 et al. You would still have the issue of finding a sturdy telescope mount to carry it but if you are content photographing the moon, you shouldn't need to spend big money here.

Try looking at some 500mm Catadioptric mirror lenses ..they give great results compared to telescopes at the same price...I have one coming up for sale soon ....
john is right most scopes under lets say £200 are a waist of time on a camera the optics simply are not up to the job
