Right Peoples, i'm in need of an opinion or 2.

I'm after a 1.4x tc for my 70-200 f/4

Is the price difference between the Kenko Pro 300 1.4x and the Canon 1.4x Mk2 reflected in the difference in quality.

Can anyone provide some shot's using one or the other for me??!!

What would/did you do?

Cheers

no one?

I can't honestly comment on the Canon Mk2, but when I looked into buying one, I did a fair amount of reading on here and in the end went for the Kenko. The main reasons for buying the Kenko were:

- people's views (and a few review websites) suggested that they were very similar in performance/quality
- the Kenko was considerably cheaper (bought mine from onestop-digital - worth a look there!)
- the Kenko works with more lenses than the Canon extender, which is limited to L series lenses, but not all of them, e.g. it won't work with 24-105L or 24-70L - the Kenko also works with EF-S lenses

Having bought and used mine with my 70-200L f/4 and 100-400L, although not extensively, I can honestly say that it's a worthwhile purchase. As with all 1.4x extenders, it will drop your lens' aperture by 1 stop and your pics will be a little softer at the long end, however with the Kenko it's not something that is too noticeable - certainly not enough to be of concern.

Hope this helps

Hi Charlie, vary rarely does the the 70-200F4L and 1.4 come off of the camera. As for the price difference I cannot help much as I have not compared the hardware myself.
