Tele converters- Help please!

I have just purchased a Sigma 300mm f2.8 HSM APO lens - I also opted for a Sigma 1.4 Tele converter

It works fit on my Sigma 105mm f2.8- but refuses to accept auto focus as an option on my 300mm f2.8

any tips or advice on settings etc. Will be gratefully received - its driving me mad

Seems like it can only do manual focus on that lens, if I read it right

I did that and they appear to be compatible

It was 2nd hand from WEX discovered it's a MK1 and not the newer Mk2- so could have age related compatibility issues - It's going back for a refund

Might be worth contacting Sigma they can update the firmware for you if you send them the lens.

Tried that buddy. Weird thing is it works with my Sigma 105mm f2.8 perfectly

On looking up the lens serial number- you are dead right- manual focus only
