Their prices seem to indicate that they are a grey-importer at best.

They have some items listed a lot cheaper than some of the better-known HongKong stores (I was looking at the Nikon macro flash). So, I gave them a call and got an answering maching telling me that they cannot answer the phone now .. that, to me, isn't a good sign! If I can't get in touch with them before I give them my hard earned money, then what chance would I have after I have made payment.

I have just found some reviews on price runner saying its a scam, and people are taking legal action.

DEFINETLY NOT BUYING FROM THEM!

well, I guess this threads now a warning to people not to go there lol!

I think the tekmo name was just playing on that of the old Jessops brand tekno.co.uk. Probably hoping to catch out people who can't tipe type

I got a lens from an Ebay seller, and it came delivered via Citylink with a Tekmo mailing address.

Bit strange as it seemed to be a private seller, but no issues per se.

The company were incoporated on 14/06/2007 and have a trade credit rating from an independent reference agency of 48/100 which indicates a moderate risk. Credit limit is only £1000 which means that if they buy on credit from their suppliers, their suppliers could only insure £1000 of the debt. Don't think that's going to buy a lot of equipment or stock! Oh and lastly the business has an issued share capital of £1. In summary, I wouldn't buy from this company.

oh well! back to my search for the cheapest 40D and kit lens!

You've posted some nice information there .. would you mind telling where did you get this from? Please don't think I am doubting your data .. not at all .. just would love to know, that's all.

Thanks.

I run a small business and we use a credit reference company called Creditsafe. Good for establishing creditworthiness of potential customers but also useful if you're planning to buy goods from unknown suppliers over the internet.

Thanks ; are there any fees associated with using Creditsafe?

We pay an annual contract fee which allows unlimited use. From memory it's aboout £300-£400. They may do a pay as you go service but I'm not sure. Their website is www.creditsafeuk.com

Thanks for the link :)
