Okay, I've had my TV for about 7 years, a Philips something and just discovered if I flip down a cover on the remote it gives loads more buttons to press  ... Obviously never needed them! .... Chuffing technology is great!

I'll bet the buttons are mentioned in TFM!

Try taking a step into the world of hi-def and there will be some more buttons for you to press.:D

I only buy new TV's now on the basis of how many buttons are on the remote..

..I don't care what they do, juts more buttons than is reasonable is the best, and the more of them coloured red and big the better. The fact that your remote had a hidden section (to me that's like discovering the wardrobe of Narina) is freaking awesome, and it leaves me thinking that the current remote control is just not up to standard.

Don't get me started on flashing lights inside PC's, especially gaming PC's.

Just counted and the remote has 57 buttons! .... only ever used 8  usually only three get used though :D

I remember the first remote control telly we had when I was a kid. 4 buttons, volume up and down and channel up and down.

I clicked a button and a secret panel opened and I thought I was back in DOS and Doom. Must've been the door to the TP staff room... :runaway:

well tbh not usually..
the old remotes on the olden day TV's (;)) had functions for VCRs so if you bought the same brand TV and VCR you could double up one remote to do both.
I bet half the buttons on OP's remote are VCR related.

On newer TV's this silly practice usually has been abolished

Hi Splog,
Thats a fair point you make. But tell me - What does "Chuffing" mean?
Thanks.
