I have a request from a client who wants me to produce time lapse of a project that will last 2 years from start to finish and is in a remote location with no power, the camera will have to be located at the top of a mast to give the required view.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a camera with time lapse functionality that i can control by a laptop from ground level to download images every now and again and possibly power the battery from a solar panel..Thanks for your help im a bit stuck on this one!!

D3-s-x definitely does...use a wi-fi to download images and you can set intervals to anything you want.

Just checked the manual and you can set any combination of frames and intervals you want to run continuously for as long as there is power and memory.

but I doubt you'd be wanting to stick a D3s on top of a pole in the open air for a couple of years :)

A mast with no power?

That'll be a flag pole then.

Caber?

Not sure if it will and what resolution your client wants the images supplying have you considered using something 2xG11's (one as a backup if one fails) and an external battery supply?
Wouldn't like to leave a SLR and lens on a site for 2 years, you probably won't get it back....

Here's a nice empty box, going cheap...lol
