i was wondering if anyone has any previous experience of filling in this application form (GTTR) as ive come a bit stuck on one of the section.

heres the problem-
when it asks me to put my degree down it has 20 boxes for each subject(of my degree) and the time spend doing each one (as a percentage), im stuck in whether they want me to list every module i took at uni (18 of them), or whether they want me to group them into subjects such as design, project work, mathematics etc especially considering the titles given to many of my modules at uni would mean nothing to most people.

anyone got any answers?

cheers

jamie

Hi Whitewash, when I applied to become a teacher I remember putting fine art (BA hons) and that seemed to be accepted. I guess they want to check that you have some education in the subject you want to teach. Once you get to a PGCE course they will direct you to subject knowlege that you wil require. Hope that's of some help. Rob

cheers rob, ive just been speaking to my friend whos just completed his NQT status and he says that im best putting everything down with module titles, not only do things like 'analytical methods', 'vehicle design', "drawing and CAD" look impressive but i also dont run the risk of missing anything out or embelishing something too much. i think the form has changed a bit as well recently, stupid faffy online applications!

Good luck with your application, hope you enjoy your teaching career:-)

im hoping so too, im fed up with my current job and teaching looks appealing and something i might enjoy/be good at! plus its also a career which my current job isnt

Don't ask me, I got rejected last time I applied, even though my sister's a teacher, and my dads a former head!!?? :D :D

Edit - it's probably, my over use, of commas!! :D :D

I don't know but I think I'd put down all the bits of your degree you think would impress them most. Try to show your skills as much as poss.

That said, I really don't know. Could you phone admissions to ask???
