TB's 52 - Week 8 - Street signs

Thanks both. The kids were bouncing for about 90 minutes, so I thought the least I could do was get a shot for the 52!

Decided to have a walk around the city after a work do in Manchester.
First time using a diffusion filter.

First one is my pick for street signs.

The rest of the images were taken at the same time and are off topic, but would really value critique on the rest of the set if you have a few minutes to review.
My level is keen beginner, so very open to feedback or suggestion of what to look out for.

I really like your chosen image - lovely aged feel to it, You did very well to keep the detail despite the bright light shining at you at the top of the frame.

I like the tags and they would have worked fine for the theme. But the one with Vivienne Westwood is by far the strongest.

The remainder of the images, whilst having merit in their own right, don't really work for the theme in my opinion. Others may see it differently.

Yep - chosen image is great. Really atmospheric. I also like to the one with the yellow bus in it.
Some of the others would have been spot on for graffiti theme a few weeks back

Cheers all. And apologies for unclear post. Only first one was for the signs theme.
I was inviting general critique of the others as "off topic".
Adjusted original wording to reflect this.

Your submitted image is a cracker.

Thanks for clarifying how the rest fit in. I very often post multiple images in my own thread, but normally on topic to show my thought process.

Good work, goes to show that lighting can make a potentially depressing scene into really interesting. The first night scene, I was drawn to the reflection of the blue sign, positioning to get the entire sign reflection and cropping down might get more drama?

Ooh interesting? The one with the bin?
Funny you should say that. I like the colour pop, but I was trying to obscure it because it was Primark and I'm not a fan!

Great set Tom, I really like your chosen shot.

I also like the first graffiti shot but might want to brighten up the image a bit and try to bring out the white more. I think that it would look great in b&w.

Love the alley shots especially the second to last one.
