Tax Rebate

As im sure most of you are tired of hearing, im flying out to the dominican republic to try and restart life after a horror year of broken limbs.

I was told that working full time at a company here and finishing before the end of the tax year i could reclaim tax. I havnt ever had a rebate even when all my friends did when we were 17.

Now im going to fill out the p80 something form and i will send it back, does anybody have any idea what the next step is as im not going to be here is it something that my mother can middle man for me?

Isn't it calculated over the time you have worked and then you will have a sum of money that is tax free?

im not sure at all the woman on the phone wasnt very helpfull she said print the form send it in and we will work it out.... just dont know what the process is and was wondering if anyone had been through it lately?

I haven't had to fill in the form in question, but it is a simple process and they do pay up fairly quickly. You can ask for it to be paid directly into a bank or ask for a cheque.

However when did you get your last paycheque?

The Tax year ends on 5th April, so if you only stopped being paid in the last month or two you probably won't be getting a lot back.

Have it paid into your bank.

you can put yoour bank details on the form [or your mums if its easier then she could write you a cheque if your closing your accounts down]

ok perfect ive put my bank detail on there im going to keep my account open as i have my savings in there just incase
