fixedimage's comparison is rolls of 35mm, Danny's is comparison of 120 from what I can deduce.
 
I think basically the situation will be as it is now, shop around. The only difference is that the price differential on some products and on certain bulk quantities is likely to be less than it was before, but even now 7dayshop isn't always the cheapest - the only write "best UK price by miles" on some of their product pages for a good reason!

35mm works out more expensive too from 7DS if you add 20% vat, not just 120. It comes to £34.90 + 20% = £41.88

My comparison was made with 35mm yes and it was made by putting 3 rolls then 10 in the basket to get a total at both sellers.

Oh, I see what I've done, I added the 20% to the price for 3 rolls from 7Day but forgot to add it to the price for 10.

So yeah, if you buy 10 rolls from both places AG is £2.13 cheaper.

10 rolls doesn't last me long so I'd be ordering 20, at that quantity AG is £8.22 cheaper.

Of course this is all calculated at current prices, other retailers might view 7Day price increases as lessening the competition and feel freer to increase prices themselves.
 
And of course, there's no guarantee that by April 2012 these prices will still be the same. And due to delivery costs, buying locally might work out cheaper (wouldn't that be a bizarre turnaround).
 
Nowhere local to me sells Kodak film unfortunately.

I can only get the rather overpriced Ilford films around here.

There speaks the big city dwelling 35mm user ;) .. .. .. out in the boonies and shooting 120, I somehow doubt anyone local is going to suddenly step into the frame :(

What it might do is inspire another independent to make a try of volume discount film sales by mail order. With 7DS coming under UK VAT there's no longer an offshore location advantage to offset the disadvantages, and someone doing something similar on the mainland would benefit from better communications (no weather-dependent shipping times). I know this sounds like AG, but you need some competition to keep pricing honest.

It's either that or the backroom Ebay sellers.. ..

My post obviously wasn't going to apply to all, and people shooting different film emulsions on different formats in different geographical locations are going to source differently.

But, for the record... I almost solely shoot 120 :nono: :thumbs:
 
I donot know how much film 7DS actually sell, but looking at what else they sell maybe film isent going to worry them too much if people go else where:shrug:

Like I said i just bought 2 batteries for my 50D from them for £10, now i know for a fact no one else does that sort of deal, ok they might not be the best in the world but they are in the camera now and work well.

Judging by the new premises, and the amount of blue plastic boxes they had full with orders in them that I could see they have a very lucrative buisness going.
