I'm trying to design a tattoo consisting of lettering. I've picked the font style I'd like, does anybody know how to show words in a curved shape in Microsoft Word, so I can get an idea what the finished design will look like?

At the moment I can only type the letters in a straight line or stagger them up and down but that doesn't show how I want them to be.:shrug::shrug:

Cheers, what is word art and how do I get it. I'm only using MS Word to mess about with fonts and sizes etc to give me an idea of what the tat'll look like. I'll end up getting a similar font at the studio.

Word art is within Word

think it's something along the lines of....new doc...insert....wordart

it'll give you the ability to warp text etc
 
Depends what version you're using, but its usually something like Menu | Insert | Word Art

It may (or may not) have installed in your version - sometimes it gets left out of a basic install. You can usually get at it by doing a re-install.

be very aware of its ability to do very cheesy drop caps, purple shadows and other effects that are already out of fashion. And, quite frankly, look rubbish.

Oh, but do get a design you like and go for it. If you've got a great tatt design, then you'll forever keep looking at it and say "yes, I was right". If you get it wrong, then ....

Oooh - are you gonna share what you're having tattooed onto you? I keep thinking about having one, then I'm not so sure. It's not like I can decide that I don't want one anymore once it's there :thinking: :lol:

I've got a few already. A small tribute to my dad after he died and a design both on my upper left arm. Got a fancy cross on my back when I was in Florida last year. The guy made a total b****cks of it and it needs to be re-done. When I get this done I'm gonna get the new one in curved lettering above and below the cross. Once it's done I'll maybe post a pic.

The wording I'm gonna use are lyrics from a song which mean something to me (dunno what they are about in the song, but my interpratation has something for me). Probably get it done in the next month or so, when I've got funds.
 
I am fascinated by tattoos and have often toyed with the idea of getting one for years!! i just cant decide what i would want!! maybe one day!
 
Why dont we start a new thread SHOW US YA TATS or TATS OUT FOR T' LADS:lol: seriously though, would be kinda cool to see other peoples ink.

Ah well, off to the tattoo shop today. Don't have an appointment, just gonna chance my luck. We'll see if my bottle holds heh, heh:shake::bang::shrug:
