From what I can gather there's some clause that only lenses built in certain countries (Japan and maybe another one or two) can make autofocus lenses for Canikon, which is why you can't get Zeiss etc with AF for Canikon.

Nothing of the sort, sigma and tamron etc reverse engineer the af where zeiss and samyang don't samyang probably don't because it's expensive Zeiss don't because they are Zeiss!

I hear (or rather read) that the Zeiss stuff is really top shelf but seldom see anything made with them - that I know of anyway.
