I was looking at ebay and some other websites that sell second hand lens etc.

I came across this old Tamron 90mm f2.5 SP Macro (Manual focus lens) for Nikon mount.

It got the old nikon pong thing on the aperture ring so is definite old and is manual focus.

Was wondering whats the performance like as a macro? The lens is under £100 and I looking for a macro lens to use on my D300 and D7000.

Why not pay the bit extra and get a new one from DigitalRev like I did, excellent service and only took about 3 days to arrive. Good luck on whatever you decide!

You can buy the current version second hand for not a great deal more, and have AF.
Dont see the point is spending that much and something that old when you can get a much newer one for not much more.

I use an older version manual focus only on my Nikon D80. It can produce great results.

I have the newer f2.8 AF model, and to be honest it only ever gets used in AF mode when I'm NOT using it for close-up work. The AF is slow and noisy and acts as a great insect scarer :-)
Just wish I had the money for Canons 100m f2.8 IS L :)
