HI All,

Does anybody own a Tokina 80-200mm f2.8 and if so would they be kind enough to let me know what they think of it, I have been looking for a Nikon 80-200 2.8 but can't seem to get hold of one. I tried the tokina one out and i seemed pretty good, but that was just standing in the shop door way. so perhaps a couple of pics of experience with it in action would be greatly appreciated.

TBH every Tokina lens I've tried apart from the 12-24 and the 100mm macro has been junk, and thats putting it politely.

I got the 20-35 f/2.8 a while back and that was a complete PoS - soft and de-centered. The 28-70's f/2.8 are horrendous too if you want to shoot close to wide open.

I like to keep an open mind on lenses, but I'll wager money that it'll be crap!
 
I take it this lens is secondhand, because I don't think it's been produced for quite a while.
 
sorry i meant Tamron 80-200mm f2.8, i am just haveing one of those days! :bang:

god where's my brain today yes i meant the tamron 70 -200
 
Never heard of the Tamron 80-200.

If you mean the new Tamron 70-200 this is excellent (stellar optics, everyone's raving about it), but with dog slow AF.
