looking to upgrade, anyone had experience with this lens?????
would this be a better lens than my 18-55mm kit lens on my 400d

thanks

never used the tamron one but i had the nikon version when i first started and i loved it. sorry not much help, it would be a good addition for the extra reach cant really say if it will be better than your kit lens as ive never used a canon before but for the price id go for it if the nice people on here would say the IQ is as good as the kit lens.

Hi. Is it the f/4-5.6 LD Macro you are thinking of getting? If so I have one for my Canon 350d.

yes it is the f4-5.6 ld macro

thanks

Its a good lens. They go cheap to if you search about. I have one for the D90 and it's as sharp as a tac in my book(for the money).

Yeh, I find it ok, bought it new 3 months ago and only used it 3/4 times. It's not a bad lens. I bought it for birds in the back garden but I was offered a 70-300 at a price I couldnt refuse so I use that mostly now. I also have digiscoping gear so that gets used lots too. Go for it, have a look at Amazon where I got mine from, looks like they are doing them for around £70. Good for the price until you can save up to buy better. (and you will!!)

I have a photographic memory that was never developed

ive just found one on ebay brand new for £60.00:)

Collegecameras are very cheap for the same lens.

I bought it for the sony a200. Its a great lens except feels a bit plasticy
