Hi

I currently have a Tamron 55-200 F/4-5.6 Di II LD and for the money I think it is an excellent little lens.

However, it has its limitations and was thinking of upgrading to the Nikon 55-200 f/4-56 G ED VR DX.

So the question is will I see a big difference, which I guess I should because of the image stabalisation, or will I only notice at the longer range.

If its just the longer range I may look at getting the Nikon 70-300 f/4-5.6 G IF-ED VR Lens (when cash permits) as I do like to take shots of Rugby when not playing myself and would like a little more length.

Your thoughts, comments and experience would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Lee

Yes go for the 70-300 if you can afford it. I have the Nikon 55-200 VR, and although it's a great lens it's not much good for photographing birds and objects at long distance such as rugby (I should imagine). I wish I could have afforded the 70-300.

Oh b****r I thought you guys might say that.. :)

I think the reason i'm not is that I seem to get a lot of use from the 55-200 length and worried that I would still use this more than the 70-300, then again would I really miss the 15mm on the bottom end.

Thanks for the advice

Inline with your recommendations I've ordered the 70-300mm VR.

Thanks again for the advice
