Tamron 18-270mm f3.5-6.3 Di II VC EF-S

I'm thinking about buying this lens and I've read some good reviews about it.
I've done a search here but I've not found posts about this lens.
Obviously some user views would be quote nice.
So, do any of you Canonites out there had any experience with this lens?
I'd also be happy to hear from Nikonites who have used this lens as well.
Replacing my Canon 17-85 & 55-250 with this would hopefully mean one less lens to carry.

I have used this lens on my Nikon D90 the results are as follows the edge distortion is very bad at maximum 270mm also the colour is not correct the grass came out a light brown, I had the lens for two days then returned it to the shop for a full refund. hope this is of some use.
