tamron 172d lens

hi all,can someone help me please.
i have just started photography and purchased a nikon d3000.
i have also purchased a tamron 172d lens off of e bay with an af mount.will this fit straight on to my camera,or will i have to purchase an adapter to make it fit,any ideas guys,thanks??.

It will fit straight on, but I doubt it will autofocus. Your camera doesnt have an inbuilt autofocus motor, so relies on the lens to have one, which Im pretty sure this one doesnt.

yeah thanks tom,is this lens any good for wildlife shots at a distance??

Probably won't be great to be honest,but try it and see.
Older tamron lenses weren't known for their quality, but you might pick a diamond from the rough.
