Atm Amazon have the Tammy 17-50mm non-VC for under £300 delivered, but i'm a bit curious to know what the returns policy is, if i found the focus was off?

Clifton Cameras have it for £310 and i'm sure they'd be ok with an exchange if i found it was off a bit, but if Amazon are fine with an exchange, i'd be a bit daft paying the extra.

Anyone done the same as i'm thinking through Amazon?

Not with a lens but with a camera bag, no trouble returning stuff to Amazon (providing it's supplied by Amazon), and I think you have 30 days to return it.

I have not had any problems returning stuff to Amazon before, you should also be covered by the distance selling rules, 7 day cooling off period.

Camerabox had the VC version for £279 a couple of days ago, might be worth having a peak there.

Cameraworld are doing that lens for £299 at present, their a reliable firm to deal with.

IME, Amazon's customer service department are almost second to none!

As stated, as long as it's coming from their warehouse and not from a third party seller on their website, you can generally return anything without stating a reason and if it really is faulty, you have your statutory rights as a consumer to fall back on. So, fear not :)!
