Hi iv been looking 4 a new lens. Keeps looking at tamron 17-50 xr di ii ld. Not wanting 2 spend much over 200 hundred. Is this the lens for me.

In terms of bang for buck you cant really do much better for the price, super sharp, nice bokeh and generally a really good piece of glass. I think the only downside is build quality, although the one i used was actually pretty good in that area too. Check out some shots from it... http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=tamron 17-50 xr di It is also worth checking out the SIgma 17.50 both are very good lenses for the price.

One thing i would say is to go to a physical store to make sure you get a good copy.

Yeah I love it, i have no issues with the build quality, its by no means an L lens but then nor is the price tag.

Its a solid lens, works superbly and is pin sharp which is what matters and for me, its never off one of the bodies we have.

Certainly gets a good following and as has been said, for the money, it's a great lens, well worth an investment - if you found it's not for you, you can easily sell it on ...
