Has anyone on here tried the Tamrac Velocity?

Came across them today and they look like a good alternative to a Slingshot, well priced as well.

I was thinking the 7x would probably be OK for my gear -

300D
55-250mm IS
18-55mm
50mm f/1.8
Spare battery, CF cards, filters, shutter release, etc

Wondered what the thoughts were on them?

They are a well respected bag co. and that one looks good to me. I ended up with a tamrac bag as part of a kit I bought once and whilst it's the wrong size for just about any combo of kit I try it with, the quality is good and on par with all the lowepro stuff I have.

The size looks to be just about right for the kit you want to haul too. :)

Sounds good - especially as Morris Photo have them for £30 delivered. I've seen a 9 on ebay for £34 delivered iirc, but it's a fair bit bigger and probably more than I need/want at the mo, also it's the older range.

I like the look of the 8x. When i say look, I mean what it can take etc not necessarily the cosmetic value ;) I'm off to find the cheapest, and possibly buy it.

That is one thing i have against it - the looks.

The Slingshot looks much nicer in my mind, but i guess comparable to the 7x would be a 200AW, which at ~£42 (cheapest iirc) is still a fair bit more expensive than the 7x.

Tough one!!

I'm currently comparing the velocity 8x with the Pro 5... hmmm.

Another vote for the Velocity 9 :)

I would always try to go for a bag that was slightly bigger than you need at the moment.

You will end up with more kit to carry around .... Everybody does .. :D

I think the 9 has it. Any reasons not to buy it.. or i'm pulling the trigger.

Mine.. £37.50 (and not a bad "look" either.. just a little large as i'm not the tallest ever :D )

I prefer Tamrac to Lowepro. Mainly because theyre cheaper and theyre basically the same thing. I also prefer the interior design of Tamrac's.

9x owner here. Generally happy with it, but wish it had a flat bottom, so it could be stood upright. It's is big, as it can take my 20D with 100-400mm attached, complete with the lens hood attached too :)

Hmm, still not sure - I definately prefer the look of the slingshot, plus it's nice and small.

Has anyone got the 7x? Wondering how big it is/looks on your back.
