TalkSport reception

I'm now in Cornwall near Lizard..the annual Christmas break.. and because FM can be a bit dodgy I bring my DAB radio with me. I have the three preset buttons allocated to ..Radio4. Five Live and Talksport. No problem with the first two but no reception whatsoever for Talksport despite having the ariel extended. Whilst we're overlooking a cove (near Lizard) we're up on the road level. I thought DAB was the same frequency anywhere in the country. The LCD is showing ' Talksport...service not available' . Anyone any ideas, please ?

It's because TalkSport is a commercial station and has to pay to get it's signal all over the country, so it doesn't. I just about get it on DAB down here on the Wilts/Dorset borders. Obviously, the BBC has their own network of transmitters which all of their "channels" utilise.

Thanks, Steve. I'll stop trying,then. I found other stations I couldn't get..like Radio Absolute and some other more obscure ones. One suggestion I found was to re-tune the radio but I had a sense of foreboding about that...lol..but now I know why I couldn't get it, it wouldn't have made any difference.

I can't get it on my iPad,either. Talksport state "we don't actively support tablets currently" I do,however get it loud and clear on my iMac ( Gloucester) because if I'm doing something on it when Jim White and Simon Jordan are on...10.00 to mid-day weekdays, I can access it and have it in my favs. Jordon,who once owned Crystal Palace, has very detailed knowledge on football matters. They compliment each other well.

I like Simon Jordan, proper football man, the sort you want running our clubs...
