On Saturday October 27 the Guardian are giving away a free 100 page guide to Photography.

The guide is aimed at enthusiastic amateurs and will cover all aspects, both technical and creative, of film and digital photography.
Read about what inspired professionals such as Martin Parr, Anton Corbijn, Jane Bown and Sam Taylor-Wood, and gain invaluable practical advice from our expert workshops, which cover everything from travel photography to sport to reportage.

Also, from Monday 29 October, G2 will run a daily photography tutorial which will give readers the chance to send in their own photographs to be critiqued by professional photographers.

Sounds like this could be quite an interesting read for everyone, and as a bonus, they've chosen Talk Photography as "One of the best forums on the web", and theyve chosen to list us in the guide.

It's things like this that are testament to our friendly approach, invaluable advice and warm community spirit that we have here. :)

Wohooo :D TP fame, and hopefully an interesting read too :D

Brilliant news - Well done us!

I hope you Mods & Admin peeps are standing by with mega gbs of space for the influx of new members once the article and guide are released?

Could we have elitist member titles? Pre and post article members. :D

WOW,

that's sounds like a great endorsement to people who work behind the scenes to make this such a great forum as well as the contributers to the content.

Congrats to us *Pats self on back*.

It'll be VERY interesting to see how much traffic is driven to the site as a result. That's some amazing free advertising!

Cheers,
James

Well done us! We can "look forward" to another 3,000 new members on October 27th then? :D

Congrats :) Should we be bracing ourselves for a big influx of new members :D

Congratulations, jsut goes to show what a good place this is :)

well done everyone esp "them in the engine room":clap::clap:

hehe, well done all of us, congrats TP owners.:clap:

I have the strangest feeling that that week will also be the same week all the usual members post up there best shot up, finish the new website design at last, get that link in there sig, and blogs will be oddly busy that week too.

Coincidence is a funny thing. :D

Is it the 27th or this Saturday Marcel :p your post seems to suggest both

:woot: Well done TP now wait for the influx of new members :D

Oops, my boo boo.

I've changed the thread title. It's actually *next* saturday, the 27th :)

still sounds confusing to me! why not 'Saturday 27th' in the title?

:)

Fantastic news Marcel... proud to be a member here... kudos to all of you.

Excellent, well done to everyone :clap:

I'd better pull my socks up and start posting more comments then!
It's already much busier than when I joined, it's harder to keep up with all the photo posts. Marcel get the whip ready.
And I promise not to throw my toy's out of my pram if I don't get many comments too.:baby:

Well done to all who manage the site, and of course it readers/posters

I wonder if we ought to review some of the OOF thread content
one recent popular thread may not convey the image of a sensible photo forum
don't want to be censorial (can you say that?)
but the thread in question is a bit "school boy"
(ducks ready for incoming)

Well done to everyone for making this forum what it is today

Edit: Cheers for the suggestion Mike, we'll see what happens

well done tp!! you deserve it, thanks to everyone who makes it such a great place

Congratulations to everyone at TalkPhotography on the news!

/hugs everyone!

Expect a rash of "what's the best camera for" questions week after next then :)

Top stuff.
The founders ought to be proud down to their socks and then some.
This is an EXCELLENT place to be
