Hello everyone, it is that time of the year again, this years Fantasy Football League game has just become active, and so I am starting a TalkPhotography Fantasy Football League for the 25/26 season for any members here who is interested.

There are two leagues, the Standard fantasy football league, and the Head 2 Head league. You can choose to join one or both. :)

The standard league is where your team accumulates points each week, and the person with the most points wins at the end of the season. If you have not played before, and have any questions, please ask.

The Head 2 Head league pits two teams in the TalkPhotography Head 2 Head league against each other each week, and the total gained points for that week are Head 2 Head with the person you are drawn with. Points are gained from the encounter, as you either win, lose or draw, and are added up over the season to give a winner at the end. Imho, it adds a little more interest each week, as no matter where you are in the standard league, you only have to get more points that your H2H opponent to get points.

The Head 2 Head will automatically close for entries after the deadline for the first game, which is Fri 15th Aug @18:30.

With this in mind, if a player has not posted that they have joined, and what their username and team name is on the FF site in this thread, I will try to delete them one hour before the the entry deadline, so Fri 15th Aug @17:30, because I can't after it starts. I will be on holiday though, but plan to be somewhere I can watch the match, ;) and hopefully make any changes I need to.

Note that is a Friday for the first game of the season, Liverpool v Bournemouth.

I shall close entries to the standard fantasy football league game at the deadline for the 2nd gameweek, which is Fri 22nd Aug @18:30. This is to give a chance to those who may not realise the season started, or that we have a FF league, the extra week to join. The reason for not keeping the standard league open for the whole season, is to stop people joining later, who may come in automatically leading the league, and upsetting existing league members. There will be just under a month to join from the posting of this thread. But I advise anyone to join early, rather than take the chance of forgetting to join later on. ;)

Because these are TalkPhotography leagues, people joining need to be members here, and I ask everyone who joins to post in this thread to say they have joined, and what username and team name they will be using, as their username there and here may be different.

Don't assume I will know what your usernames are here and there, or that you have plated in previous years, if you don't post in this thread that you have joined, and what username and team name they will be using you are using on the FF site, I will delete you from this league. It has to be the same rules for everyone.

If you don't post, and I can't verify that you are a member of TalkPhotography, I shall remove people from the league(s). There are thousands of FF leagues to join, and this one is only for TalkPhotography members. I unfortunately had to do that last season, and I don't want to do it again.

Joining the league couldn't be easier. Simply use the link(s) below, and you'll be added automatically after you signed in, or created an account, and you will have joined the league(s).

Please note again, you will not be allowed to join the Head 2 Head league after the first game deadline.

I'm in. Chambolica Charente will be aiming for a top 3 finish and a good cup run.

These teams are getting more familiar each year :)

I did change mine from the original 'Oddballs' lol, to New Oak, but I'll stick with that going forward [Name of the team I played for IRL as a kid]

I'm not liking the AI badge generation. :( And the need to sign in with some kind of account to generate a bespoke badge. I would prefer the option to use my own avatar, but that is not an option. :headbang:

Yeah it's not very well implemented IMO, but I did an Irish fire football anyway :D

I signed in, as I remembered I had an Adobe account, but doesn't recognise LFC, or the liver bird! :thinking:

I've used Copilot to generate images in the past in work to see how it works, and that seemed more "intelligent". I will try the same question to Copilot in work tomorrow and see what it generates in comparison.

Thank you, once again, Redhed. Penfold's Dangermice returns for both competitions, and I'm sorry I didn't post much last season, but I'm looking forward to reading your write-ups again.

The whole thing is hard to use. That’s the web version on a phone, I’ve never used the app

The app is designed to be used in portrait format, as is the web version. It is basically designed for phone use. If you have the web version in landscape format you can't view your gk and forwards at the same time in pitch view. It is very poor.
 
Odd, I had my avatar appproved and it was showing on my page, now it's reverted back to 'pending moderation'

I can't work out how to pick my team colours let alone make an avatar!

Chambolica Charente will be taking to the field naked.
 
Im in, "The Real Villa", I hope to have more luck this season and be competing at the top end of the league instead of languishing at the bottom

Here is who has joined up to now, and who has and has not posted in this thread what their team name is.

Just to reiterate, unless someone posts in this thread that they have joined, and what their team name is, they will be deleted from the H2H before the season kicks off, because I can't delete anyone after that league starts, and I will delete teams from the standard league before the deadline of the 2nd gameweek as stated in the first post of this thread.

These leagues are for TP members. I don't care if you have been in in previous years, it is the same rule for everyone. I don't want to be trying to match teams and names there to members here.

You deserve a medal the size of a dustbin lid for what you have gone through to create the leagues. I can't find out how to opt out of leagues I don't want to be in or pick my team colours. I thought that the team badge would just be lifting an image from my files, not signing into an AI program. Fuch that. The new site whether on Chrome or app is hopeless.

P.s. Might be an idea to ask admin to close last year's thread.
 
I don’t think team colours is a thing this year, or at least I can’t see it either (my guys are in red with yellow socks though!). Perhaps the badge is to replace it, but I’m with you, it I’m not signing into owt to create one.

Surprisingly I still haven't changed my team since I built it couple weeks back .... do I really wait till kick off to go mad on the transfers?? :ROFLMAO:
 
Another bump before the season starts for anyone who wants to join this season's TP Fantasy Football. It is not too late to join.

The deadline for joining the standard league is the deadline for the 2nd gameweek, which is Fri 22nd Aug @18:30. Though the sooner you join the better, because deadlines sneak up on you pretty quick, and are easily missed.

The deadline for joining the Head2Head league is Fri 15th Aug @17:30, because I can't modify that league once it starts.

And why would I need to modify a league? because these leagues are for Talk Photography members, and the only provision for joining is posting in this thread that you have joined, and what your team is called.

Anyone who does not do that before the deadlines above will be removed. I am on holiday atm, but plan to watch the Liverpool game, so will hopefully be in place to delete anyone who has joined the H2H league and not posted in this thread.

Atm that is going to be Tarric's Terrors for the Head2Head league, though they will have another week to post in this thread for the standard game.

We are up to 13 atm, a few short of last year. :( I have asked the mods to sticky this new thread to the start of the forum, and unstick last seasons. Hopefully that may catch some wandering eyes. ;)
