You must be joking! Marathons full/half, triathlons, kids tournaments rugby/football, Thai boxing, ice skating, equestrian, cycling just to name a few :)

 you having a laugh?!

its the most busy period of the year - confeds cup, world cup qualifiers, friendly tournaments, about 718 new kits to document, new signings, new managers, newport county in the football league, there is sooooooo much going on.

Not at all, being deadly serious

Remember, "most" people who use this forum aren't pro's working full time so come the end of the season the camera goes away and comes back out in August

I've got one, maybe two events between now and when I decide to start going back to it. its not a full time job like some of you guys on here

quite seriously back.... football friendlies are the most exciting times... embrace what you do and don't be a boring august to may league person. It should be all about pictures... so take pictures. Why put the camera away? Take your camera if you go on holiday... you never know what you will get... You should also need the practice.. I and my colleagues certainly do.. Photographers need pre-season training too. If I dont do a game for a week I can feel myself going below par sometimes.

Keep Shooting!! :)

great landscape football shot

Sorry if that came over alittle harsh, I will keep ticking over come end of July / early August where I can but we are due our first baby end of July which is why I am holding off committing to plenty of sport at present, just taking things easy before things get alittle mad lol

I should do a write up like whitey on my first season photographing Championship football but it was a bit '*****' so would be a bit embarrassed....

I love shooting sport but have to confess I am a little put off posting as I feel you're all professionals, and wouldn't want to be shot down for asking a stupid question. I have been quietly learning from you all :)

After photographing my husband playing footy for a few years, I've now tried shooting kitesurfing, running races, cycling races, archery, skateboarding, floodlit footy games. I just love it and am learning all the time. Should I start asking all my stupid questions??

Start asking. Keep ole Kipax happy. ;)

Were not all professionals and believe me there are some pretty woeful professionals kicking about (not here)

Im a part timer, theres the odd full time pro but theres also many enthusiastic amateurs on here as well, to my mind the only thing which makes a professional a professional is the fact he earns a living from his work and the amateur doesn't, ive seen work from many amateurs which would put some professionals to shame.

Please, ask away, no question is stupid if you dont know the answer to it.

The thing I always say with people is we all started at nothing and worked up. I always help others as I was once in a position to ask people questions

happy to help people as a way of saying thanks to all those people who used to answer my questions

ask away, dont be frightened, only Kipax bites ;)

I know what you mean as I have even tried to help others taking football photos as I have learnt some things from experience and from others, but then I realise I know very little compared to some!

I will ask though.... Each sport can have it's own challenges can't it?
