Boo!
So, I've been away a bit having joined TP just over 6 years ago. I've been taking photos but I've not been sharing - and that's been holding me back a little bit recently. I joined the Royal Navy a few years ago so I've done a bit of travelling but I've just been hoarding photos.
Tech held me back a little, my Lightroom library outgrew my laptop so the archive went to live on a desktop. I'd do a shoot, transfer it to my laptop, get home, transfer that to the desktop and then be too tired and busy to process the photos. Then I'd go away for 6 months and come back confused about what was where, what memory cards had been cleared, what had been backed up and what I wanted to work on and lose interest. Laptop sorted out and I'm all in one place now meaning that I can work wherever I am again. Couple of hard drives scattered around the UK that I back up to when I get and smart previews of all my photos stored in Dropbox seems to work for peace of mind.
Now my focus is on how I'm going to share. I've come up with a very rough plan of action involving three tiers.
Here's one I took just for fun - double rainbow after a hailstorm just before sunset. Location is somewhere in the Eastern Pacific.

- Holiday snaps. These can go on Facebook for friends and family (which, after all, is why I took them to start with.)
- Mildly interesting. Not sure about this. Probably Flickr to see what sticks and what doesn't.
- Interesting. 500px? Looks like a nice tool and hopefully a good starting point when people ask where they can see what I'm doing. I imagine 500px would be where photos chop and change as my tastes, environment and mood change. I could probably share these via Facebook as well just to shove them in my friends' faces.
