Talk Photography Fantasy Football League(s) for 2020/21.

As mentioned above, some interesting results because of the limited number of games because of the FA Cup and Covid. The leaders, Biggin Bangers have been seemingly affected, losing their H2H with Amber Army 24 - 58. Their lead at the top is down to two points from Klopp Klopp Boom who won their H2H with Banished to Riyadh 51 - 42. Amber Army remain in 3rd, though obviously 3 points closer to the top. ;)

Hardly Athletic move up a place into 4th after winning their H2H with Mrs Smith's Boys 56 - 43. Penfold's Dangermice move down to 5th.

Interesting score of the week was DTFC Snapper beating Ball Oxes 8 - 5. :oops: :$ Not sure I have seen such a low scoring H2H. :thinking: :LOL:

Thankfully, even though I had a low scoring week, I was lucky enough to come up against the only other team to score in single figures, tarric tots, and the result was a 21 - 7 win for me. :) That win enabled me to move up from 16th > 14th.

Athletico High Street were up against AVERAGE, and were victorious in a close 31 - 30 H2H. :clap:

Next to take on AVERAGE are Farcealona. Bona sort. ;)

Indeed it's a strange game at the moment, difficult to plan a few games ahead, which is what I always try to do.

This week I've taken a -4 hit, but that's enabled me to have 10 players playing twice and I've deployed my triple captain on KDB, as I try to chase down our leader

I cocked up and meant to make Cresswell my captain this week since West Ham are playing Burnley and Fulham. I also just noticed that two games were postponed (Leeds v Southampton and Villa v Everton) which cuts down on my number of players playing twice. (I'm guessing that I am not the only one going to be caught out by this as Everton are not featuring at all this game week.) I just hoping Salah can start producing the goods again.
 
I got rid of Salah so no doubt he will, I'm doing terrible enough atm without having 12m worth getting 2pts every game lately, switched him out for De Bruyne

How to auto subs work exactly? I have a defender with 8pts on the bench and Keane won't be playing, will Justin get auto placed in for Keane at end?

Not necessarily. Is Justin the first player on your bench? Any position (except goalie) can be replaced by any position, in priority order that they are on the bench - providing the change means the teams formation remains an allowable one (minimum 3 Def, 3 mids, 1 striker). If those formation rules are not met, it jumps to the next player on the bench.

For example, if you have 4 defenders and one doesn't play, he will be replaced by a striker or mid, if they are the first on your bench

He's third on the bench, but first defender, there's the sub GK and a Fwd in front of him so it should jump to him?

How many defenders are you starting with? If only 3 yes he'll come on. If more than 3 the striker will come on (providing he plays a game)


Edit: just looked at your team, yes Justin will come in. Then if Tierney's injury means he doesn't play then Dallas will come on for you

I think it may depend what position the defender is on the bench. You need at least 3 defenders, so if that was what you had chosen, the first playing defender on the bench will replace the defender (of the three) that didn't play. If you chose 4 defenders, then the first player (who played) on the bench will replace the defender that didn't play, be they defender, midfielder or forward. Hope that makes sense. :) That is why it is good to give some thought to the order you place players on the bench. ;)

And if I am wrong, someone please correct me. ;)

Edit: Just had a look, and because you only had three defenders chosen, and Justin is ahead of Dallas on the bench, then he should replace Keane. :)

It's looking like 2 of my defenders will be out, Tierney is injured and probably won't play, so I think both Justin and Dallas will come in. It must happen at the end? of course if my brain was awake I'd not have inc Keane to begin with ... d'oh! how did I miss that Everton weren't playing this round? :/

It'd be nice to get that 8pts from Justin, it'll cover the transfer fees [aye, I'm at it again :D ]

If I am right, if Keane and Tierney don't play, you should have Justin replace Keane, to make the minimum three defenders needed, and because Bamford is ahead of Dallas on the bench, he should come in for Tierney. We'll see. ;)

Bamford and Dallas both only got 2pts so it's all the same :D I'm not doing very well atm, below 'Average' so could do with any extras

That will happen in the final reckoning.after the last game of the game week.

The only way Bamford comes off the bench for you is if Lacazette doesn't play.

You do like to ring the changes! I try to resist taking point hits for the most part, but sometimes you have to. I really want a city defender in the next week, but Vardy is flagged as injured again, it seems his hip doesnt like playing 90 minutes at the moment, so that may be my next change. Although it's a shame as Leicester have favourable fixtures coming. If Antonio comes through the next game unscathed and plays the whole match he could be vardys replacement and is much cheaper, freeing up cash for for the week after.

Tbh, a lot of my switches are due to inexperience with the current league, I was much more into footy years back and would gamble a lot on weekend runs. I knew the ins and outs of who was running hot back then, now I don't gamble nor watch the footy I'm lost- been a while, out of touch, so just scrambling to grab whoever seems hot - often ends in a fail, just like my old gambles :rolleyes: :ROFLMAO:

You're right. I got confused. ;) :LOL:

I hope Tierney plays, as I have only just got him in, and he was in good form. If he doesn't play, I'll get 2 points for Bamford. Tierney may have the chance of more points against Newcastle. ;)

I'm wary of Antonio now, when he plays, he's great, but he seems fragile. Shame, because I like the way he plays.
 
Yeah I only just brought Tierney in too, obv before this current injury so it'll be better for me if he does play - like you say, at home Vs Newcastle you would expect Arsenal to shine

What is happening to liverpool:(?

It's strange that I've scored 95 points and feel like it's gone badly! Major injuries to KBD and Vardy, plus Zouma losing his place for no apparent reason leaves me with drastic action needed.... Salah needs to start scoring pretty sharpish!

I have done pretty well, but thankfully my two Liverpool defenders did well from the two games overall, with one clean sheet at least. :rolleyes: I think there will be a lot of people changing KBD and Vardy for next week. I doubt many will be choosing Liverpool replacements atm. ;) :( :LOL:

Not sure what to do about Vardy, make a change, and take the risk of not being able to buy him back, or leave as is. :thinking:

If he's out for a month, that's a lot of fantasy gameweeks to miss, as they are coming thick and fast in the next few weeks.

Definately not switching them to more Liverpool players just yet! You need to consider teams with outstanding gameweeks to be arranged, as some of those will be getting slotted in soon. After the cup matches and draw this weekend, we'll be able to make educated guesses about the next round too, which will be the deciding factor in who gets double games/blank games in weeks 26 and 29.
 
Well, I switched Salah out for De Bruyne, now he's out till Feb 21st :/ hate the forced transfers, I've a few I could do with kicking and one free transfer - hmmm, bit of financial management is in order

As we hit the mid point of the season, a high scoring week for most people with many teams playing two games over the last gameweek.

The top two, Amber Army (102) and Klopp Klopp Boom (97) remain in 1st and 2nd, with Amber Army having increased their lead to 32 points with one of the highest scores of the week.

Farcealona (86) move ahead of Biggin Bangers (73) by eight points into 3rd place. Penfold's Dangermice (81) stay in 5th place, though now only one point ahead of Double Pogba Redbull (113).

Champsanova were the highest scorer with 125 points, :oops: :$ :clap: and move up to 7th.

The average score for the week was 74 points.

I had a good week, with 88 points, with thankfully Fernandes having an OK week, but boosted by the Triple Captain option, for 24 points just for him. :) I moved up a place from 19th > 18th.

The next gameweek starts on Tuesday, and there is an early game, so the deadline for changes is Tue 26th Jan @16:30.

Don't forget to check for post FA Cup injuries. ;)

There were no really close Head 2 Heads this week. And no draws either. ;)

Biggin Bangers remain in 1st place on 45 points after beating Ball Oxes 73 - 67. Klopp Klopp Boom stay in 2nd, still two point behind, after winning their H2H against Hardly Athletic 93 - 79. Amber Army are a further two points behind in 3rd after defeating Atletico High Street 103 - 77.

Despite their loss, Hardly Athletic stay in 4th, but the are joined on 31 points by Banished to Riyadh.

Farcealona took on AVERAGE, and were victorious 86 - 74. :clap:

Next up for AVERAGE are DTFC Snapper. 祝好運 ;)

AVERAGE are now second to last, with only Rotund FC a point behind. Fingers crossed we can get AVERAGE to the bottom. That may not be possible this week though as Rotund FC take on high scoring Amber Army.

Thanks mainly to using the Triple Captain boost for Fernandes, I came out ahead of Penfold's Dangermice 88 - 77 in our H2H. That moved me up from 14th > 12th. :)

I was right in thinking my error of forgetting to swap the captaincy from Salah to Cresswell would come back to bite me in the end. Mind you, I also made a tactical error of playing my bench boost after sacrificing 4pts to get three outfield players on the bench for a massive nett return of +2 points. I was knocked out of the cup as well as a result. :(

On a positive note, I was tempted to do my transfers early on Saturday using the wildcard to bring in Vardy and De Bruyne. For once, I got it right and decided to hold off until today before noticing that both went on the injured list yesterday. Now I'm trying to decide whether to keep Salah in after his performance yesterday. :)

Transefrs again cost me the H2H, was tempted to do a couple more today [already have the neccesary ones done] as I managed to have £5m spare in the bank! [De Bruyne replaced by
Gündogan] but I'll hold for now. That will certainly come in useful next round

Looks like we're all locked into having Bruno as Cap, it'd be very brave to go against the grain here .. tempted!

Also looks like Tierney is a doubt once again, that exclamaition only showed up on him today, so I think I'll go just 3 defenders again and let him rest :D

Might be about time for Bamford to go ... 1pt in 59mins vs one of the weaker teams .... I think that's where my spare monies will be going.

Now, if I'd only listened to my own advice about trying a different player as Captain, would I have chosen Gundogen though? perhaps not, nice double from him all the same, best switch I've made in a whille as it put 5m in the bank just with that switch alone

Nothing great in the fwd dept on offer, will be mostly keeping an eye on the defenders and Mids who do well in the remaining games

I have taken a -4 hit to Kane into replace Vardy. That said, so far so good with points for Gundogan, Saka and Soucek scoring big. I had Bamford as my other forward ahead of Wilson. Bamford 1 point, Wilson 5 points of the bench. :rolleyes:

37 points from 5 players so far is very nice. :) There have been a few weeks when I have had less than that after all the players have played at the end of the game week. :( :rolleyes: :LOL:
