By my post count it is obvious I am new to this forum, I am also new to DSLR photography and I mean new!

Last night I spent about two hours reading through various threads and posts.

In two hours I learned more than I would ever have expected. Some of the effects used on here create outstanding images, from smoke art photography to layering sunsets. This place is a mine of information and everyone is upfront and open with their techniques and tutorials on how they achieve these stunning results.

Keep up the good work. I tip the brim of my cap!

Thanks Dean for recommending this site!

I'm fairly new too, at least to this site.

Like all forums, it has different sections for different interests/types of questions. Photoshop manipulation of the kind you've been reading about is very popular and can be useful - but read the other sections too, and learn about both the art and science of photography. Good shots are made in the camera, and unless you're more interested in producing computer art than photography, IMO your first learning point should be to learn how to create stunning images in the camera.

Welcome along!! The only bit of info this website doesn't contain is sadly, the secret to eternal youth :(

Welcome  It's a great site and you'll learn loads and develop your photography skills no end just be prepared for honest critique and you can't go wrong ;)

It's a God awful place to be if you've got a credit card and an itchy trigger finger
